I agree with move. I will participate. Please add EB1 also in the list. EB1 also should get the GC based on priority as the title of the thread says. Also remove the country quota. That will make it purely first come first serve basis. Everybody is treated equally irrespective of country or background.

I 140 approved - Dec 2006
I 485 Date received July 2nd 2007
RD - checks were cashed (date - July 30, 2007)
FP - Got a mail from USCIS regarding finger printing (scheduled - August 29,2007)
So far no receipt by mail, application is at Nebraska.

My I-485 was mailed on June 1'st. Attorney haven't received receipts yet.
But my checks to USCIS got cashed yesterday. There are two numbers starting with SRC......but I dont know why there are two numbers instead of one.

USCIS should seperate North Indians and South Indians - We are soooo very different anyways ..... Different language - different look - different food ..... That way all of us North Indians will get our GC sooner :D

That way Maharashtrians who are thought to be North Indians by people from Kerala and thought to be south Indians by people from Punjab, will finally know if they will get their GC in time. Hey, since USCIS is going to use stereotypes anyway, how about we base the EB category, based on our stereotypical knowledge of relative intelligence between the "races"?

I am also frustated with GC process. It is literally controlling my life...
I don't want to go India because not sure whether I would get Visa or not. I don't want to join some prime vendor company because not sure whether they would start GC process immediately or not, and vendor could terminate the job immediately after contract expiration or any other issue. As everyone knows that desi employers are blood suckers and on top of it H1B extensions are very tough to get with them. I was almost on edge of leaving the country on my last extension.
With desi employer, It looks to me that my career goal is only GC. I don't know when I get that and I am sure that my goals will be none after getting GC because I would be exhausted by then....

The only clarification I would make over Knnmbd's interpretation is that as long as you have a US master's degree or higher, the "3 years work experience in a related field" restriction will not apply. If you read section 201 carefully, you will see that the difference between items 1 and 2 is that item 1 refers to US advanced degree holders while item 2 refers to advanced degree holders (resumably non-US educated). The 3 year restriction only applies to those who fall into item #2.
So, if
a) you have a MS from a US university, you and your immediate family (spouse and minor children) will not be subject to the 3 years restriction and will be exempt from the Visa Cap
b) you have a masters or higher from an acredited non-US university, then the Visa Cap will not apply to you and your family, but you shouldd have worked in the US in a "related" field for 3 years.
My question to everyone:
Will folks in section 201 be required to get a Labor certification? If not, then this will provide relief to a lot of us stuck in the BECs.
Knowledgeable folks, please comment.

You can download the form from SSA website and fill the information for each applicant and take it to the SSA office. You can get rid of 'authorized to work with INS permit only' label of your SS card by using the same form and get a new card.
Take the forms, your PR card, old SS card. It just takes few minutes. Over the past 4 years, I have contributed to IV several times. I was also a monthly subscriber of $20 for over a year until my credit card expired and the payments stopped.
What pains me is that inspite of several requests, i have not been granted access to donor forms. Perhaps there is a waiting list for donor access or my priority date is not current for the same.:confused:
I will try my best to make it to DC events, but please accept my small contribution in case i am unable to make the trip.

We have thousands here. We take just 1000 people and if everyone contributes 100 dollars - its 100,000 dollars. Just an estimate for lawyer fees incase we get that far

TOGETHER WE STAND, TOGETHER WE STAND my brothers and sisters.
It sounds easy..but funding drives are not always easy when reality strikes...how about starting a spreadsheet with names and ph# of people who are willing to contribute $100 for this lawsuit. As soon as we have the 1000th name, we start depositing money to a bank account. 100 grand is not small amount and I am sure we can find a good enough lawyer to start a lawsuit for that kind of money.
I and my wife are ready with our 100 bucks each.....and can help with maintaing the spreadsheet etc.... how do we get those 1000 names now....or do we even have support of 1000 people around here...that is the biggest question.
